Mr. Gastrich Attends the Candidate Coalition Meeting in San Diego

About 20 of California's gubernatorial candidates met in San Diego to discuss the recall.  After some deliberation, by majority vote, they decided that the recall process was perfectly allowable, yet flawed.

"It was good to see some of the other candidates," said Mr. Gastrich.  When asked about his vote, he said, "I voted yes.  It doesn't make good sense for the current Governor to be able to spend an unlimited amount of money on his (or her) campaign.  It's just not fair."

Four of the candidates voted against the resolution and one abstained from voting.

As he was attending the meeting, Mr. Gastrich spoke to Daniel Watts about the upcoming debate at UCSD.  "It was a pleasure to see Daniel.  We missed him at the UC Berkeley debate and the Cal Poly event.  I hope he can reserve a room for our UCSD debate.  It's quite easy for students to reserve rooms," said Mr. Gastrich.

Right now, this debate, for the candidates under 30 years of age, is tentatively scheduled for the end of September.
