Jason Comments on the Potential Delay of the Recall Election

Mr. Gastrich spent Monday traveling from Turlock, California to Berkeley, California and was unaware of the news about the recall election until he arrived at his debate at UC Berkeley.

"When I first heard the news, I thought it would be good for the lesser known candidates.  It gives us more time to be heard and get known," said Jason, optimistically.  "I did want to know who was behind this effort, though."

Later that evening, Jason discovered that the ACLU was behind the court case and that the 9th Circuit of Appeals had ruled on the issue.  He also learned that this, same punch card, ballot system has been used since 1963 and was used to elect Gray Davis.

In light of this information, Mr. Gastrich said, "This looks awfully fishy, now.  You can't get much more liberal than the ACLU and the 9th Circuit of Appeals.  They are so far left that they don't even represent the majority of Democrats.  This ruling is unconstitutional and will likely be overturned by the Supreme Court."

On the way home from his campaign trip, Mr. Gastrich stopped in Ventura and wrote a song about the effort to delay the recall election.  The lyrics, chords, and song will be included in our next press release.
