Mr. Gastrich Responds to Schwarzenneger's Web Site
August 31, 2003
"I think it's wonderful that Arnold has finally added some viewpoints to his web site. The old site that only asked for money, introduced himself, and talked about Proposition 13 was sorely inadequate. Now, he has finally joined the ranks of the candidates that have been in this race since June," Mr. Gastrich replied.
Jason continued, "Arnold claims to be against taxes; unless there are some earthquakes and unless the budget deficit increases. Well, in the great state of California, we have earthquakes every day. Do you know what else happens every day? The budget deficit increases. Although Arnold isn't a politician, he surely likes to speak like one."
In a recent, television interview, Arnold and his campaign manager admitted that they would raise taxes if there were earthquakes and/or if the budget deficit continued to increase.
"Why can't Arnold sign 'The No New Taxes Pledge'? It was sent to his campaign manager and he could have signed it by now. He obviously cannot make this promise because he wants to raise taxes."
"The No New Taxes Pledge" has been signed by over 20 of California's gubernatorial candidates. Arnold's campaign received it nearly two weeks ago, but couldn't be reached for comment. This pledge can be seen here: http://www.ipetitions.com/campaigns/nonewtaxes/govcandidates.htm.
"As a counselor, I'm always happy when a person opens up about their problems. The silent sins and the unconfessed issues are the ones that truly hurt and embed themselves in a person's life. I'm thrilled that Arnold has listed some of his viewpoints on his web site. We can finally see where he stands and we can also begin to help him correct his poor viewpoints; such as his pro-abortion stance, his loophole for creating new taxes, and his pro-gay agenda. Even though we have a financial crisis in California, we cannot elect a candidate with low morals just because he or she might be able to help the budget deficit crisis. If we do, the state will suffer in a different, yet very significant way."
