Mr. Gastrich Contacts the Candidates About "The No New Taxes Pledge"

Dear Candidate,

I hope you are doing well, today.

The people in the state of California have many needs.  One important need is to keep money in their pockets.  Unfortunately, several, new, tax initiatives have been proposed, lately, and they are concerning the great people of California.  The proposed taxes and the chatter about certain candidates wanting to raise taxes is becoming a big factor in this election.

If you are elected the next Governor of California, do you plan on raising California's taxes?  If you don't, then please sign "The No New Taxes" Pledge.  If you can pledge to avoid raising taxes, it will encourage the citizens of California to accept your candidacy and vote for you.  If you cannot or will not sign it, then you will likely be seen as a candidate that is planning on raising taxes.

Your signature does not endorse any candidates or any ideals.  It simply tells the voters that you won't raise their taxes.  It will also be seen and mentioned by numerous voters and the news media. * On August 19, 2003, a notification of this pledge was sent to all of the 2003, gubernatorial candidates in California. On August 22, a press release will be sent to all of the major, news and media centers and it will declare who has signed the pledge and who hasn't signed it.
