Pics

The truth is a snapshot in time like a picture.

I was washing my clothes when I saw this double rainbow. It was awesome and even locals were taking pictures of it. Click it for the full panographic pic.

This is one of two turtles that I found in a canal in Kahului. They have been there for a while among the fish, toads, ducks and garbage. What do you think it is doing? I don't think it can get out. You can't tell from the picture, but it has two feet on a steep 5-6 foot ramp.

Today I watched a video about the heart on Pluto, wrote myself a note, then saw this article and video about Russian tanks.

When I lived in Long Beach, Calfornia between 2012-2014, I listened to AM/FM radio a lot. Dennis Prager broadcasted a radio show and I listened to parts of it sometimes and tweeted him my thoughts or feelings. I tweeted him 58 times. Three are above and you can click the five links for the rest of them.

I posted these tweets because I watched Samantha Bee's segment about PragerU and Dennis Prager.

It was 55 °F in Kahului, Maui a few days ago. They said it was -8 degrees colder than normal. I can't recall it ever beeing this cold here.

The full moon rose last night and reflected on the water, so I tried to capture it. I had to cross Hana Highway and take the picture through a fence though.

If China sent a 200-million-man army to the Middle East I wonder if it would look like this. How many countries will tell the U.S. military to get the hell out before this happens?

I noticed one small turtle with red facial markings in this canal about a week ago. Today it came out of the water when it saw me and looked like it wanted me to get him out. There are hundreds of fish of varying sizes, so I think it has plenty of food. Today I noticed a second turtle that was bigger about 100 yards away in the same canal. Click the pic to see it.

I saw this ladybug in Kahului, Maui today. It was originally on a flower, but it got scared when it saw me and moved to the leaf. I didn't let it get away though.

The Offspring is a great band and I have enjoyed their live performances too. I have learned their songs on guitar and taught them to students. I just heard Days Go By for the first time though! I don't know how I missed it, but I guess I was very busy when it dropped in 2012. What an awesome song. Click here to hear it on Spotify.

This is the main drag in Kahului, Maui, Hawaii and it's how people get from one part of town to another. When it rains it floods and there are huge puddles. It makes it very difficult to walk, stay dry and be safe. It has been this way for at least 3-4 years. Click it for a view of the other way.

Straight talk. I hate it when people try to scare me and others. This virus is a joke compared to the causes of death that they have accepted.

When I walk to the grocery store in Kahului there is a good view of Haleakala which is a dormant shield volcano. It is behind me and it is over 10,000 feet high. How do you like my new Revos?

MSN should be ashamed of publlishing a GFE (gross factual error) of this magnitude. This article says, "Also known as the Dome of the Rock", but Al Aqsa (not "Al Aqua") mosque is a totally different building.

As I walked around Lahaina and Kihei I noticed all sorts of critters like butterflies, crabs, koi fish, etc. This black crab freezes when the surge comes in and makes a crawl for it after it goes out.

I started using Pinterest today and came across this quote. However, I fact checked it and apparently it is listed as a "spurious quotation" by the Mount Vernon library, so I added the notice to this graphic. Buyer beware. Fake news is everywhere.

No matter what you think about the Bible I think we could probably agree that there are some interesting verses in the book of Proverbs. Proverb 25:2 is one of my favorites. Here it is in different English translations.

In an unprecedented and horrific event, two Honolulu Police Department officers were shot and killed in the line of duty. Number #49 and #50 in Hawaii state history. They were responding to a call and the suspect was mentally ill, stabbed somebody, shot them and set his house on fire causing it to burn six others as well. Two people are missing. I have never seen smoke rising from Diamond Head like it did when the firefighters couldn't put out the fires because gunshots were ringing out. If I still lived in Honolulu, I would have taken pictures of it.

There are a lot of lessons to be learned in this tragedy from the care of the mentally ill, affordable housing (he was fighting eviction), officer safety and effective gun laws. Reportedly he did not own a registered weapon.

Flags are flying at half-mast today.

I saw this light at about 3:30 this morning. I still have no idea what it was. I saw it from Kahului and it looked like it was between two hills upcountry (mauka). The moon was overhead and it wasn't a fire because it was steady and piercingly bright.

I used to just use a plastic coffee mug and a plastic coffee/tea strainer. In Miami, I added the big metal container to my repertoire for (usually) hot water. After I switched to a metal cup, I noticed coffee tasted better and after I switched to the metal strainer it tasted even better.

Pacman has been one of my favorite games since childhood. This Pacman application is lots of fun and it's even free. Every time you get 20 points you can open a new maze. Sometimes they come fast and sometimes a maze is only 10 points.

I was used to playing Pacman on a joystick and eventually a controller. Now I swipe different directions to move Pacman and he goes! Maybe one day I will use my breath or mind.
